In Class #10 at Level Up Philly Academy, we turned our focus to empowering our students with the crucial skill of pitching business ideas. This session was a stepping stone for the young entrepreneurs who have been diligently developing their business models, gearing them up for the upcoming pitch competition where early funding and a cash prize await the most compelling ideas.

🎮 The Art of the Pitch 🌟
Our students dove into the essentials of pitching. We covered how to clearly articulate a business idea, highlight why people would love their solution, share personal passion stories, and add memorable elements like fun facts or anecdotes. These pitching guidelines are critical for anyone looking to impress potential investors or mentors.
🧠 Inspiration from Young Entrepreneurs 📚
To provide real-world inspiration, we showcased a Shark Tank video featuring Trey Brown, the 15-year-old founder of SPERGO. Trey’s journey, from selling T-shirts in North Philadelphia barbershops to securing a $300,000 investment on Shark Tank, exemplifies how young entrepreneurs can achieve remarkable success. His story of opening mall stores and creating a brand valued at $1.5 million motivated our students to dream big and aim high.
🧠 Joining the Level Up Philly Community 📚
An exciting development for our students was the launch of the Level Up Philly Discord server. This platform allows for ongoing communication, collaboration, and community-building among students, mentors, and staff.

A key activity in this session was journaling, where students developed short pitches for their business ideas. This exercise helped them crystallize their thoughts and prepare for real-world pitching scenarios. A few brave students even volunteered to pitch their ideas to the class, receiving constructive feedback and encouragement.
