🚀 Level Up Academy’s Intro to AI Class! 🎮
Class #9 at Level Up Philly Academy was a journey into the transformative world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a technology that’s reshaping our present and future. In this class, our students explored what AI is, how it’s influencing major shifts in technology, and the exciting possibilities it offers for content creation and monetization.

🎮 A Walk Through AI’s History 🌟
Our exploration began with a dive into the history of AI. We discussed its significant milestones, starting from neural networks and machine learning concepts in the 1950s, to Eliza and Shakey in the 1960s, and moving on to the AI winter and renaissance of the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1990s, AI made strides in speech and video processing, leading to the 2000s when IBM Watson won Jeopardy, and more recently, the advent of general-purpose generative AIs
🧠 Creating and Monetizing with AI 📚
AI’s potential in content creation was a key focus. We demonstrated how AI can generate creative content, like creating a comic book, showcasing AI’s ability to support content creators at every stage of the creative process. We also explored how students can monetize AI through creating templates, paid bots, or launching AI startups.
🧠 Ethics in AI: A Responsible Approach 📚
An important part of our discussion was the ethics surrounding AI. We emphasized that AI, while powerful, needs to be used responsibly. This led to a thoughtful class discussion on the ethical implications of AI technologies and their impact on society.
🌟 Journal Activity: AI for a Better World 💪
Students engaged in a journal activity, envisioning how AI could be used to make the world a better place. This exercise encouraged them to think creatively and ethically about the application of AI in solving real-world problems.
💡 What’s Next? 🚀
The class culminated in a virtual reality (VR) session, where students competed in a game of Blast-on! The winner went home with a cash prize, adding an element of fun and competition to the learning experience.
